Greetings esteemed customers!

We’ve been quite quiet this end, as you may or may not have noticed.  But the site is ticking away, and we have a new batch of stock ready to be uploaded soon!

Just to let you know we’ve had to update the Wordpress software at the heart of illodeli, and our customised shop plug in doesn’t much like it.  Our categories are all over the place, and the way things look basically all gone completely haywire.  We like to see this as all part of the rich tapestry that running an online business entails. Without these hiccups along the way we wouldn’t have a shop at all. We’re just about managing to stick with that thought…  So apologies should you find us in a state of disarray in the coming week or so.  Please trust that we’re working hard to get everything back to normal.  And look out for that new work coming soon!

In the mean time, please do take this opportunity to rummage through the stock lying all over the virtual floor, and if you find anything you fancy get it bought!  We’re thinking of rotating some older stock out of circulation.  So grab it whilst it’s there!

Hi All,

This is a quick post to let you our customers know about the resolution of an issue that had plagued us over the last few weeks.

It appears that a selection of Scott Purdy’s fine work had somehow become corrupted in our database.  Of course we only discovered this when one of our customers alerted us to the wonky image he had received.  We emailed out new images and replaced the defective ones in the database the same day.

And then it happened again, with some different images.  And we sent out replacements immediately, and uploaded new files.  At that point I (Jon) checked all the files that shared that date stamp, since it seemed to have actually been an uploading problem. That seemed to cure the issue.

And… then it happened again.  This isn’t acceptable to us, and nor to you.  So this morning Scott has been hard at work replacing all his images on the site.  We don’t like this sort of thing, it isn’t the service we aim to offer, and we’re doing everything we can to correct it.  We now believe we have tracked the issue to one setting in Scott’s FTP program, but will continue to test his images to prevent further occurrences of the Purdy wonkiness.  All other files are unaffected and working as they should.  Personally I suspect the sheer levels of awesome in Scott’s black and white work have caused this malfunction.

We’re currently discussing what we can offer the three customers who have encountered this frankly unacceptable phenomenon, and would like to take this opportunity to apologise to them for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Onwards towards shedding our beta status!

On an unrelated topic, do take the time to check out the slowly expanding stock available on the site.  I’m about to launch a couple of new products, so stay tuned!

All illodeli artists are available for custom commissions (that’s what they do all day after all!), with this in mind we have added a ‘Contacts’ page to the site navigation which lists each individual artists email address and website. So if you have a project in mind and wish to contact an illodeli artist about it, now you know where to find them!

Updated F.A.Q.
We have once again updated our F.A.Q. This time with some information on using images where they were intended to be used. This is based on feedback from customers who wanted to use, for example, a half page picture as their books cover . As always, we are very willing to work with customers to give you what you want, so please check out the updated F.A.Q. for further information on this!

Server Upgrades
We recently upgraded the illodeli server, giving us the ability to offer a much larger range of artwork – which we are going to take full advantage of! Keep an eye on us over the next few months as the deli fills with fresh new artwork, spanning a whole host of subject matters, ripe for the picking! Here’s some tips to maximise your Deli life!

Clicking “Artwork Storefront” shows you the latest additions to the site. The fresher the produce the closer it is to the top. How very true that is for so many things!

We’re beginning to add “packs” of artwork to the site. There won’t be masses of these, since we’re already aiming to sell things at the most reasonable price we can.  But for some collections of related work we’re offering a discounted price for buying a bundle.  Jon has added a pack of fifteen futuristic firearms to the fillers section to save you cyberpunks the trouble of adding every last pistol to your basket.  He threw in a hefty discount too.  So look out for those packs!

Sent us an email and desperate for a response?  Don’t forget we’re all UK based, so if you’re in the States we might have still been tucked up in our beds when you sent it.  But give us 12 hours or so and we’ll be right back at you.  Bear in mind that we all work weekdays, with weekends spent piloting our yachts, dropping into our houses in Monaco or just sipping cocktails with the Beckhams, so we may not see your mail until Monday.  But see it we will, and we will also take action!

We’ve had a few emails recently which asked questions already covered in our FAQ section.  Now we don’t mind answering those questions one bit, but the fastest answers are right there in those FAQs, so be sure to check them! We always update them every time we get asked a question, both to cover more ground and make the existing answers as clear as we can.  So check back with them!

More and more products are becoming available.  We could stop that sentence right there.  But it goes on!  More and more products are becoming available in a variety of sizes.  Our priority is to keep adding new stock, but as a second string we’re also updating each product with smaller and/or larger versions.  Worth bearing in mind.

Seen an image you like but in the wrong size for your needs?  Drop us an email at illodelimail [Email] and chances are we’ll make you a new product at the right size and the right price!

We’ve added a contact section where you can get in touch with our exhibiting artists.  We’ve had a few requests for custom artwork recently.  Now that isn’t really Illodeli’s field.  But luckily it is the field of our exhibitors – all of them are professional artists who take commissions.  Bear in mind Illodeli is where we all sell existing, completed work, and our commission rates for new bespoke art are not the same as our Illodeli rates.  Should you need to commission that special piece of unique work then drop any or all of us a line and you can deal with us as the individual artists we are!

Lastly if you have any problems at all do drop us a line.  We’d like to help.  We eventually heard tell that our checkout was broken a few weeks back.  Please do let us know about things like that that are dimishing your Deli experience.  We don’t like to think of you sat there all disappointed by some software foible that our boffins could correct in a jiffy with a flash of a spanner and a little monkey grease on the appropriate cog. There’s a “contact us” button at the foot of every page.
