Hi All,
This is a quick post to let you our customers know about the resolution of an issue that had plagued us over the last few weeks.
It appears that a selection of Scott Purdy’s fine work had somehow become corrupted in our database. Of course we only discovered this when one of our customers alerted us to the wonky image he had received. We emailed out new images and replaced the defective ones in the database the same day.
And then it happened again, with some different images. And we sent out replacements immediately, and uploaded new files. At that point I (Jon) checked all the files that shared that date stamp, since it seemed to have actually been an uploading problem. That seemed to cure the issue.
And… then it happened again. This isn’t acceptable to us, and nor to you. So this morning Scott has been hard at work replacing all his images on the site. We don’t like this sort of thing, it isn’t the service we aim to offer, and we’re doing everything we can to correct it. We now believe we have tracked the issue to one setting in Scott’s FTP program, but will continue to test his images to prevent further occurrences of the Purdy wonkiness. All other files are unaffected and working as they should. Personally I suspect the sheer levels of awesome in Scott’s black and white work have caused this malfunction.
We’re currently discussing what we can offer the three customers who have encountered this frankly unacceptable phenomenon, and would like to take this opportunity to apologise to them for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Onwards towards shedding our beta status!
On an unrelated topic, do take the time to check out the slowly expanding stock available on the site. I’m about to launch a couple of new products, so stay tuned!
Hey hey, everyone. I’m one of the three “victims” and just wanted to post on this how happy I was with the final result. Phenomenon or not, you guys reacted very fast to the problem and I was incredibly happy about it. I was expecting to wait until the following Monday for this to be resolved, but I received four emails on a Saturday morning about the issue… including one from the artist. While there may have been a hiccup, I make it a point now to check you guys first for some artwork before going anywhere else. Highly, highly recommended and Scott’s artwork is some of the best I’ve seen for 3pp’s like myself.
